As part of our 2022 River Restoration project, this summer 3 students were hired to install river restoration structures in Little Sandy Lake Brook in the Glen Arbour subdivision. This continues our restoration efforts on the Thompson Run system - one of our larger salmon rearing feeder brook systems for the main Sackville River. The project required the hand installation of 7 digger logs, 5 rock sills and 3 rock deflectors, as well as the improvement of pools and the clearing of a culvert. Work was also done in Thompson Run and the Little Sackville River to improve river flow and facilitate fish passage. The crew also performed maintenance on over 100 structures from past restoration projects across the watershed that had been installed over the last 30 years.
