It was a busy Saturday morning for members of SRA including some of our Board of Directors.
They were "rock throwing" at the culvert on Drain Lake Brook which leads to McCabe Lake. Rocks carried by last summer's flood waters were blocking fish passage between McCabe and Drain Lakes. A neighbourhood volunteer had started the process and we came to help clear a passage for migrating Gaspereau, eels and Atlantic salmon.
If this type of volunteering appeals to you, join the Sackville Rivers Association. By the way, our AGM is coming up June 6th and is open to members and non members alike. See previous posts for details or check out our website: sackvillerivers.ns.ca
