March 22nd marks the 32nd annual World Water Day.

Established in 1993 by the United Nations, World Water Day seeks to raise awareness about the importance of access to clean, safe water.

In 2025, the focus of World Water Day is the increasingly rapid melting of the world's glaciers.

As glaciers shrink and meltwater flows change, many areas of the world are subjected to increased risk of flooding or, ironically, drought. Coastal areas are under greater threat from sea level changes.

It is more important than ever to make glacier preservation a top priority in the fight to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Some may know March 14 as Pi day, but it's also "International Day of Action for Rivers".

The International Day of Action for Rivers is a time to come together in solidarity with rivers and the communities that protect and defend them.

By taking action on behalf of rivers, we affirm that we have the power to protect rivers and ensure that communities have access to clean free-flowing water and the right to participate in decisions directly affecting rivers, and ultimately, their lives.
